Customer Success Manager

The Customer Success Manager will be the customer’s core contact throughout their life cycle at SupplyShift. You will intimately understand the customer’s journey and key milestones of the SupplyShift platform. You will be responsible for fostering and building positive long-term relationships with customers, expanding opportunities, and growing their existing business. The Customer Success Manager will support our sales team and work with the Product and Implementation teams to create solutions in a fun and fast-paced environment, all while delivering great service that leads to high customer satisfaction. In this role, the Customer Success Manager will work tactically with cross-functional teams and act as the voice of the customer to deliver insights and affect strategic changes. The Customer Success department at SupplyShift is growing, and we are looking for someone who is experienced supporting SaaS customers and will help to create and standardize processes to foster SupplyShift’s growth.

 

Requirements & Expectations:

  • Customer Success experience required
  • Project Management experience required
  • Competency and knowledge in B2B or SaaS sales
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and technical aptitude
  • Process-oriented mindset, experience creating and implementing new processes
  • Comfortable with a CRM application. Experience with HubSpot or HelpScout is a plus
  • Proactive team player with fresh ideas for user adoption and churn mitigation
  • Comfortable with managing multiple projects and delivering results on-time
  • A resourceful self-starter who takes the initiative to get things done in a fast-paced and often changing startup environment
  • Startup experience is a plus

  • Coordinate with the Sales team to verify project alignment during sales, implementation, and renewal cycles
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers and strategize with the internal teams on customer goals and priorities

Sales Engineer

At SupplyShift, the Sales Engineers (SE) collaborate with the sales account team acting as technical leads for the sales team and customers during the entire sales process. SE’s prepare technical presentations and perform customer demos.

 

Direct Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with sales team on customer proposals and demos for sale activities including travel to customer sites or conferences, as necessary.
  • Preparing the business case or financial options for the sales team to support their proposals.
  • Research, create and deliver customer-focused presentations and customer-focused demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the SupplyShift value proposition.
  • Work closely with customers to understand and capture requirements and devise effective solutions.
  • Manage all aspects of RFP/RFI responses, completing all technical areas of RFP/RFI responses.
  • Ensuring that SupplyShift can effectively deliver on all the customer’s requirements in the time proposed.
  • Effectively communicate customer needs to the Product management team for future product enhancements through detailed written descriptions including number of accounts and priority.
  • Collect and document competitive intelligence for use by the sales account team.
  • Present and articulate SupplyShift’s platform strengths, features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
  • Update CRM with current information, updates and meetings on all active deals, companies and contacts.
  • Help sales team identify ways to solve customer barriers to moving forward in sales pipeline.
  • Partner with sales team to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles.

SupplyShift Project Manager is responsible for client relationship and project communication during the implementation phase of a project. You own and execute projects in compliance with the contracts and internal processes.  You lead the governance, timeline, resources, and scope of the project. You collaborate with all project partners.  You document project progress, risks, decisions, and overall project health.

Accounting/Operations Manager

*60% Time Position

 

SupplyShift is looking for a talented Accounting/Operations Manager to join our expanding company in downtown Santa Cruz, CA. Working directly with clients and staff, you will work on diverse accounting/bookkeeping tasks including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations and monthly reporting. Your ideas and input on streamlining operations and process improvements will be an essential part of the position. We are looking for someone who can not only keep up but thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative work environment.

 

You will be a highly motivated, highly organized and efficient team player with 4+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience with office operations as a secondary responsibility. This person will report to the VP, Finance & Operations and will be responsible for overseeing many administrative and financial activities for the company.

 

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • 4+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience with office management responsibilities
  • Understanding of GAAP rules
  • Deadline & detail-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively analyze current processes and recommend improvements

  • Tech-savvy, with great Excel skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks

Customer Operations Support

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the technical requirements of the customer relationship during the implementation phase of a project. You will support Project Managers through all stages of the project and will collaborate with all project partners. You will assist with customer onboarding and support, and work creatively to understand customer needs and implement them on the SupplyShift platform. This is an entry level position. We are looking for someone who will want to grow with our company for a long period of time. This position is full-time, on-site in our office in Santa Cruz, California. Full or part time remote work is not available for this position.

 

Key Activities

  • Delivery of ‘above and beyond’ customer service and support through all stages of the project
  • Actively assess and validate customer operational requirements for successful implementation.
  • Work with Project Managers to execute the operational and technical tasks to achieve the program objectives on time and with high quality
  • Perform customer data-based calculations, merges and quality review.
  • Assist product management team with escalated customer project issues.
  • Collaborate with product management team members to complete solution design or other custom materials

Responsibilities:

Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

  • Define product strategy and roadmap through engagement with customers and internal stakeholders while assessing technology and competitive trends
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of customer needs and competitive intelligence, identify global market trends and drivers, and formulate and execute strategic product portfolio planning
  • Establish requirements and work with UX and internal stakeholders to deliver specifications to the engineering team. Engage with other functional groups (especially Project Leads and Product Development) to develop final product requirements for new products
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure success in product delivery; Lead internal efforts to move any assigned products through the Product Life Cycle process.
  • Create a high-quality user-centered product
  • Contribute to product strategy sessions and engage with the other parts of the organization to ensure a clear pathway for the requirement pipeline
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Document new feature releases and provide stakeholders with training on delivered functionalities

SupplyShift is a supply chain sustainability software that helps large companies engage the suppliers, factories, and farmers they buy from to track and improve sustainability performance. We currently work with the palm oil, textiles, adhesives, coffee, sugar, university procurement, eggs & dairy, travel, and forestry industries to assess environmental, social, labor, security, risk, ethics, and efficiency practices of their supply chains.

Internship Description and Responsibilities:
This is an opportunity for current students to immerse themselves in social and environmental change within the business world. An internship at SupplyShift will give you the opportunity to gain real-world business management skills from daily organization to commonly used software tools. The student will be focused on data management, technology, testing new features, and working in the software program management area. Multi-lingual students may be offered translation duties. Interns will participate in training and gain literacy in industry-wide organizational software platforms (Asana, Slack, others). Day to day operations include document prep, data cleaning, and input, customer account support, platform guidance document editing, problem-solving and troubleshooting platform, customer project, and supply chain issues.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal intern has strong analytical skills, especially excel. Interest in working at a start-up that is striving to make a positive change with large corporations regarding environmental and social responsibility. The student must be interested in pursuing a future career in fields in the tech, sustainability, or other industries relating to SupplyShift. (e.g. if you have a plan to be an accountant or to start your own restaurant after graduating this is not a good fit).

• Excel and Microsoft Suite, Google Apps, Email Etiquette.
• Work or another internship experience
• Junior or beginning of senior standing (preferably entering Junior year)
• Technology skills are desirable

Nice to have skills:
• Fluency in foreign languages.
• A diversity of opinion and background, we are extremely interested in cultivating a diverse operations team. You do not need to be a US citizen.
• Coding experience, video gamers and/or heavy social media users.

Training Provided: Direct training with operations and implementation management is provided for all projects. Questions during projects are highly encouraged. You will be working in a small company and actively involved in specific data management and SupplyShift platform projects.

Hours/Week: 10-12 hrs/wk

Compensation is credit-based to begin, with the potential to continue to a paid internship. Recommendations, resume building help, and use of SupplyShift’s CEO as a reference is also available to interns that perform admirably.
