GreenBiz Group recognized SupplyShift as the top solution in the Carbon category of their VERGE 21 Accelerate pitch competition.

SupplyShift was named the most innovative solution to help companies reduce carbon emissions at this week’s VERGE 21 event. VERGE is the largest climate tech event and is organized by the GreenBiz Group.  SupplyShift delivers a supply chain sustainability platform that helps companies build more sustainable, resilient supply chains, and seamlessly trace their upstream Scope 3 emissions.

The Accelerate competition recognizes companies that are delivering groundbreaking technology that will help significantly reduce emissions. Accelerate at VERGE 21 is a fast-pitch competition featuring entrepreneurs with innovative technologies, products, and services in carbon, energy, food, mobility, and water infrastructure. SupplyShift was recognized as the winner in the carbon category.

This public recognition reinforces SupplyShift’s leadership in delivering technology to enable companies to assess their Scope 3 emissions and engage with their suppliers to reduce their impact. According to research by McKinsey, more than 90% of natural capital impact (e.g., affecting air, soil, land) of the consumer sector is in the supply chain. A company’s efforts to reduce emissions within their supply chain will have the greatest impact on carbon reduction related to their business.

“Climate change is the most critical issue of our time, and I’m proud of our team’s ability to create a solution to the biggest contributor to global corporate carbon emissions. Making GHG calculations easy for suppliers, and giving buyers full visibility into supply chain carbon emissions enables our customers to work with their suppliers to drive overall emissions down. As the world is meeting this week at COP26, we must continue to focus on collaboration as the way forward on solving the climate challenge,” says Alex Gershenson, CEO of SupplyShift.

SupplyShift’s suite of GHG emissions assessments are combined with tools to help communicate and collaborate with suppliers to motivate change and help them on their own carbon reduction journey.
