The SPLC BENCHMARK ℠ platform was officially unveiled during the main stage presentation at the annual SPLC Summit 2017 in Denver, Colorado.
Our new partner, Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC), is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ‘…support and recognize purchasing leadership that accelerates the transition to a prosperous and sustainable future’.
Founded in 2013, SPLC convenes buyers, suppliers, and public interest advocates to develop programs that simplify and standardize sustainable purchasing efforts by large organizations. In just a short period, SPLC has attracted close to 180 members and represents over $200 billion in collective purchasing power. Members include public sector organizations, Fortune500 companies, non-profits, and small and medium-sized businesses. – see member list.

Assess their own sustainable purchasing activities against the recommendations in SPLC’s Guidance for Leadership in Sustainable Purchasing
Benchmark the maturity of their sustainable purchasing activities against those of other organizations. SPLC BENCHMARK ℠’s foundation is a Maturity Model for Leadership in Sustainable Purchasing. The assessment framework developed for SPLC BENCHMARK ℠ will inform the development of SPLC’s Rating System for Leadership in Sustainable Purchasing.
SPLC BENCHMARK uses a maturity model to assess the maturity of a sustainable purchasing program. The model defines four levels of leadership maturity for each aspect of an organization’s sustainable purchasing program.
